Spousal Exercise

Throughout our seven years together I have (on and off evidently) tried to go to the gym and got into good patterns and would fall out. As is I now know that I just wasn’t ready to commit to the mental aspect of getting fit and healthy. Well long story short I have always tried to get Mr B to come with me so I wouldn’t have an excuse to snuggle up on the couch with him and our little furry guy. Can’t snuggle up with him if he’s at the gym!

Prior to our exit from Michigan we were both members at a gym but hardly ever went. Well, New Year – New Us! We joined a gym over the weekend and made a commitment to both go together and tonight was the first night! With the 5K on St. Patty’s Day looming just a little over 9 weeks away I just completed my 1st training run and felt GREAT! I know that it won’t last too long and hard work will come in and I am looking forward to it :-).

3 days into the new me and I am still feeling good about it 🙂 let’s see if I can make it 21 days. (I am pretty sure I saw study somewhere that stated it takes 21 days of repetition to make something a habit and I want to make a habit of eating healthy and being fit. 3 days down 18 to go!



New Year, New Me

2012 has come and gone in the blink of an eye. I won’t even pretend like it wasn’t jam packed because by my lack of blogging it evidently was busy. Although 2012 was the best year of my life so far I know that 2013 will give it its’ run for the money.

I use to have an old blog about losing weight and getting in shape and well, that fell to the way-side. This is not going to turn to that old blog it is still about me and Mr B and our life together, however more me than him since I write it :-).

Part of the new me in the new year that I am working on and re-focusing on again is my fitness and health. Mr B and I want to try to start a family in the next year and in order to do that I feel like I need to get my body in better shape to only better myself and our future baby. And to start that off on the right track I’ve done a few things in the first week of the new year.

1. I am going (ok already am going) to Boot Camp!














Best Body Bootcamp that is. BBB is an awesome program that I have been thankful enough to enjoy once previously. It is ran by the lovely Mrs Tina Reale and is done all online through programs sent directly to you every few weeks. For someone like myself who has no clue what is going on when I get into the gym it is the perfect set-up because it teaches me what I should be doing for myself and my body! Today is only day 1 of the camp and I completed the Fitness Test just a little bit ago and boy do I hope (although I know) I’ll see progress at the end!

The second thing I am working towards in the new year is training for and running the Detroit International 1/2 Marathon in October. In preparation for that I signed up for my very first 5k that will take place on St. Patty’s Day – leaving me 9 weeks to train and get ready for that! I am hoping between the 8 weeks of bootcamp and the 8 weeks of 5k training I’ll be 8 weeks ahead of where I was last year when it came to bettering myself!

I know hardly anyone reads this however, it is nice to get things out there in the blog-world and feel a sort of accountability towards the world-wide-web!
